Children's classic Rapunzel.  It’s more than just a fairy tale.  An inspiring rendition of a traditional story.

Beijing Playhouse’s first ever children’s show, for ages 6-12, runs May 7-29, 2016.  Produced in partnership with Beijing Academy of Performing Arts. 

 

Beijing Playhouse, China's English Broadway Theatre, has presented such Broadway favorites as the musicals Oklahoma! and Guys and Dolls, You Can't Take It With You, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, and Neil Simon's The Odd Couple and the hugely popular Christmas musical comedies such as Robin Hood, Snow White and Wizard of Oz.

“Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair, so that I may climb the golden stair,” says the prince to the princess Rapunzel up in the high tower.  But will Rapunzel’s mother allow her to see the prince?  An inspiring coming of age story that explores the changing relationship between mother and daughter.  

This one act, one hour show is performed in the round with children sitting on the floor and the actors performing in the center.
